He is the only coach to have managed 5 different teams at the World Cup, Mexico (1986), Costa Rica (1990), USA (1994), Nigeria (1994) and China (2002). He is also the only coach to lead 4 different teams past the 1st round (China was the exception), thereby earning the nickname, 'Miracle Worker'
